Set along the sacred Bagmati River, the temple features a multi-storied pagoda-style structure with a gilded roof and beautifully carved silver doors. The main sanctum houses a five-faced Shiva lingam, representing the divine presence of Lord Shiva.

Pashupatinath is an important pilgrimage site, especially during Maha Shivaratri, when thousands of devotees and sadhus from Nepal and India gather for night-long prayers and celebrations. The temple complex also includes traditional Hindu cremation ghats, offering a glimpse into sacred rituals and local spiritual practices.
